SC Freiburg is a significant hub for women's football in Germany and operates one of the first recognized performance and talent development centers for the female sector by the German Football Association (DFB). In the current 2025/26 season, four women's and girls' teams compete in the performance sector (Bundesliga, U20 team in Regionalliga Süd, U17 Juniorinnen, and U15 Juniorinnen). The club places great emphasis on child and youth protection. With a specially developed child and youth protection concept and the involvement of an ombudsman, the sports club relies on prevention and security. This concept applies to all children and adolescents who have not yet reached the age of 18, as well as all protected individuals over 18 who are active in the club or its offers. The access to the cabin during training times is prohibited for trainers and male staff. Exceptions are, for example, strength training with athletic trainers or treatments by physiotherapists. However, these units are not one-on-one situations, but are visible and also known within the overall department. On match days, trainers only enter the cabin after a hint from the team or through the team manager. In the cabin, no photo and audio recordings are allowed to safeguard the privacy of the female players (applies to both internal and external media).
