Matthias Ginter has not been selected for the upcoming Germany international matches. SC Freiburg head coach Julian Schuster has now commented on national team boss Jürgen Klopp's decision.

The 31-year-old centre-back is possibly having the strongest season of his career. Yet he was omitted from the current Germany squad. Schuster addressed the situation when speaking about his key player.

"All statements can be read with BILDplus," the Freiburg head coach said. He was referring to further explanations on the matter. The omission is significant for the club as Ginter plays a central role in their defence.

His performances this season are undeniable. SC Freiburg sit second in the Bundesliga table with nine points from three matches. The team has won all three league games, scoring ten goals.

Their most recent result was a 5-0 home win over Borussia Mönchengladbach, where Ginter provided two assists. The team's current form of five consecutive wins is impressive. The full season stats highlight the strong start.

Ginter now focuses fully on club duties. The next fixture sees Freiburg travel to face Eintracht Frankfurt on 19 September.
