SC Freiburg has successfully completed its participation in the model project 'Steilpass – Football Jobs for All'. This initiative, running from 2022 to 2026 in collaboration with FC St. Pauli, VfL Wolfsburg, and the consulting agency KickIn!, aimed to make the job market in football more inclusive and equitable. The Bundesliga club from Freiburg focused on embedding diversity and inclusion within its HR practices. A key component of the project was a training program offered from 2024 to 2025 for underrepresented groups in the football job market. This included anonymized selection processes, mentoring, and practical projects at the participating clubs. Additionally, tools for employers in football were developed and tested, such as employee surveys and audits for inclusive workplaces. An important milestone was the internal networking conference on health and diversity held in July 2025, which was attended by many staff members. The project concluded in May 2026 at the event 'Steilpass für Vielfalt!' in the VW Arena in Wolfsburg, where over 80 individuals from professional football and experts in diversity and inclusion participated. The Freiburg project is part of a growing movement addressing personnel development and organizational culture in professional football.
